Visual Campaign Image Samples
Project Potential Title:
AD SPACE
Project Description:
Logos take up a significant amount of US image ecology.
Sites of institutionalized surveillance, caging, and deportation of immigrants do not.
Here, I explore where logos should go.
Presentation:
These images (and videos to come) will be accompanied by captions which detail financial ties between corporations, private prisons, and ICE.
Progress:
As I’ve been experimenting, I’ve found my images exist in two different visual aesthetics. I sense that I need to either pick one aesthetic or merge them in order to achieve visual unity in the project. Maybe you or our visiting artist can weigh in on which aesthetics are more impactful and why?
Aesthetic 1: photographed site exterior (either myself or from google earth), marked in suggestion of logo

Aesthetic 2: more graphic quality, stark color v black and white

I’m wondering how I can merge the two. I think layering photographs in can help.
Where I plan on going:
I want to create some short videos as well a la advertisements that become distorted/break. I want to experiment with displacement maps to distort/move pixels.
